Fanatic Reviews: Songs On My Summer 2016 Playlist

If you’re anything like me, music makes the summer months even better. I’m bummed to say goodbye to the beach weather and sandals, but now it’s time to shout out my songs of the summer!

“One Dance” by Drake
Trying on the Caribbean vibe was a risky bet for Drake, but somehow he pulled it off and I’m in love.

“All About Us” by Jordan Fisher
As soon as I heard this song for the first time, I had to know who Jordan Fisher was. It’s a pop/R&B sound that is feel-good, but also great quality. Plus, I dare you NOT to dance to it. Check out my review of Jordan Fisher’s self-titled EP.

“Company” by Justin Bieber
This is one of my favorite songs from Purpose, so I was very excited when Justin made it a single. The music video is one of his best–a compilation of Purpose Tour moments that are equal parts touching and fun. Check out my review of the “Company” music video.

“Into You” by Ariana Grande
This song is a standout on Dangerous Woman, its bubbly EDM sound a perfect match for those soaring vocals of hers. It’s also brought on some of her best performances lately. This is also, hands down, my favorite Ariana video. Check out my review of “Into You.”

“Work From Home” by Fifth Harmony
I’ll admit, “Work From Home” didn’t grab me right away. It didn’t take long for me to fall for that sultry beat, though…

“Don’t Let Me Down” by The Chainsmokers ft. Daya
These three artists are making a name for themselves, and I can absolutely get behind them because not only is their music all over the radio, but the vocal and production quality are on point.

“Wild” by Troye Sivan ft. Alessia Cara
Troye and Alessia are two of my favorite musicians at the moment, so when they joined forces for a remake of Troye’s hit “Wild,” I knew it was going to be GOOD. And, my goodness, it did not disappoint. Alessia’s verse took the romantic vibe in this song and sent it skyrocketing. Check out my review of the “Wild” music video.

The last three songs on my list came in towards the end of summer, but they wasted no time in dominating radio stations after their releases.

“Closer” by The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey
This is yet another collab that I knew I would love as soon as it was announced. Halsey and Andrew’s vocals combine for a conversational, straight-up addictive track that just sizzled with chemistry when they performed it onstage at the MTV VMAs last month. Check out my review of “Closer.”

“Cold Water” by Major Lazer ft. Justin Bieber
Wanna know the secret to a hit? Ask Justin Bieber to feature on the song. I’m a lyric lover, so the fact that this is an EDM song with heartfelt, relevant lyrics makes this an instant favorite. Plus, Justin’s vocals. ‘Nuff said. Check out my review of “Cold Water.”

“Let Me Love You” by DJ Snake ft. Justin Bieber
Everything I wrote about “Cold Water” applies here as well. This song will tempt you even more to dance along as well, and the choreography for it on the Purpose Tour is LIFE. Check out my review of “Let Me Love You.”
