In case you’ve been living under an abnormally large rock for the past couple of months, you’re aware that “Company” is Justin Bieber’s second single from his world-dominating fourth studio album, Purpose.
Now, let’s get to the good stuff. Yesterday (June 8), he dropped the music video for the song.
I was fully anticipating (and maybe hoping for, I’m not ashamed to admit it) a “What Do You Mean?” part two, 50% skin and smoldering close-ups. However, we got something a whole lot better.
The video is an expertly cut mashup of stage footage, city-to-city travels, and breathtaking views. For a little more than three minutes, we get a behind-the-scenes look at his on- and off-stage moments, and it feels surprisingly genuine, even touching.
That adorable grin of his makes an appearance more than once and, coming from a fan’s perspective, it eased some of my worry that this tour is already taking a lot out of him mentally and physically. Whether it is or not, we may never know, but this feels like a subtle message to his Beliebers: “Whatever happens, I’ll be okay.”
