“Into You” is the second single from Ariana Grande’s newest album, Dangerous Woman, which dropped earlier this month.
It’s definitely the best music video I’ve seen from her so far. Visually reminiscent of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” or The Vamps’ “Wild Heart,” it’s a nice change of pace. There are just enough scenes between her and a handsome leading man to appeal to my inner romantic, while hinting at a plot that I could actually follow. When the twist was finally revealed, I was very impressed (and my eyebrows definitely shot up in surprise).
I’ll go out on a limb here to say she should absolutely do more videos like this one. It showcased the confident sex appeal she’s become known for since her music career took off (and which she’s constantly defended, as is her right), and also gave us a short story to pay attention to.
